Photographs of the Christmas Full Moon taken between 2 am December 25 and 7am December 26.
The images are dedicated to the BBC National Orchestra of Wales who provided so much joy for so many during their visit in November. Several of the photographs were taken near Punto Cuevas, the site of the first Welsh landing, and from where many of the BBC musicians enjoyed watching the whales.

Taken 2015 December 25 around 0300 hrs looking towards north west.
(Moon: azimuth 329 degrees, altitude 22 degrees)
The festive tree lit by LED lights was set up by the Muncipalidad of Puerto Madryn on Avenida Rawson outside the sailing club.
The different positions of the moon relative to the tree is mostly due to the photographs being taken at different locations and different camera angles using a tripod. When the camera was focused on the pentagonal star, the movement of the rotation of the earth on its axis and relative to the moon was easily observed. The camera position had to be adjusted every few seconds to keep the moon in the centre of the star.

The setting moon and the flags of Argentine, Wales and the indigenous peoples, flying almost horizontally against a clear sky, as they often do.
Photos taken on 26 December ca. 6 am looking north west.
(Moon: azimuth 304 degrees, altitude 7 degrees)
The sun has now risen and the relative brightness of the moon against the background sky allows more detail of the moon to be photographed without reducing the background brightness too much.

Taken near the small chapel dedicated to "Nuestra Señora de Schoenstatt", Punta Cuevas, at approximately 0630hrs looking north west.
(Moon: azimuth 298 degrees, altitude 3 degrees)
This is was one of CAPAt' s favourite photographic locations providing excellent opportunites for images of the setting sun and moon. It was from here that the several photographs of the lunar eclipse of Venus where taken.
